Introduction
We should all realize that the first people to live in
Many different tribes and cultures were there since ancient times.
Most of them lived in peace according to nature and were disturbed after 1492 with the arrival of European settlers trying to change them.
Let’s find out more about who they were and how they lived in
Task
You will have to make a collage as a final task.
In the collage you should write around 50-word captions about five different aspects of each Indian tribe or culture
The collage will be presented to rest of the class with a little talk by all the group participants
When everyone has finished and has seen other collages
Process
ACTIVITY 1
You are going to make a Treasure Hunt to warm up with the subject and know more about North-American Indians.
ACTIVITY 2
Make groups of four people. Each person chooses to be one Indian tribe or culture and then investigates them about at least five different aspects:
-Place them geographically
-The roles of men and women
-Their homes
-Their source of food and living
-Social and political system
-Culture and heritage
-Practices
-Their relation to nature
-Art
-Languages
-Religion
Go to resources in order to gather the information that can be useful for you.
Examine
To create the collage use an online dictionary or the word processor spell check.
Remember to include pictures from the web.
Use your own words to make the collage and make it attractive.
ACTIVITY 3
Collage presentations.
Each group shows their production to the other classmates. All the participants in the group have to make a little comment about it.
Comment with your group and arrange in advanced what each of you have to say
ACTIVITY 4
After looking at all the collages made in your classroom your group will think of 15 different important questions about all of them.
You will make a quiz by getting all the questions from the different groups together
